What drain jetting is used for
The jet and nozzle are selected for the job and the condition of the drain.
- Grease and fat deposits
- Scale and hardened build-up
- Silt and loose debris
- Residue left after a blockage has been opened
Access and pipe condition matter
The drainage run needs suitable access, and the pipe condition should be considered before work begins. A damaged or collapsed section needs a different approach from a sound pipe containing deposits.
If the blockage keeps returning
Jetting can thoroughly clean a serviceable drain, but it cannot correct a displaced joint, root entry, collapse or poor fall. Where a problem returns, CCTV inspection can help establish whether a defect is catching waste.
After the drain has been cleared
The flow should be checked after cleaning. Where the circumstances justify it, a camera inspection can confirm the condition of the run and whether any further action is needed.
